Director Finance (m/f/d)

We are looking for an experienced finance professional to join our team in Berlin as Director of Finance. If you have a passion for numbers and the venture space, join us to spearhead the department and play a central role in the growth of our company.

Role responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Oversee all financial functions of our management and fund entities, including accounting, tax, audit, financial planning & budgeting, controlling and cash management

• Develop and execute financial strategies and processes to support our mission of backing and supporting Europe’s best founders

• Manage our junior finance manager, and potentially grow the department in the future

• Manage the relationships with service providers such as external accountants, fund administrators, auditors and financial institutions

• Analyse and manage the fund performance and prepare quarterly reportings for our private and institutional investors

• Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry best practices

• Support the structuring and set-up of new funds and fundraising initiatives

• Responsibility for all fund-related anti-money laundering and KYC processes - onboarding of new investors, continued monitoring of investor data, transaction monitoring and annual audits.

• Extensive experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably with a background in fund management (VC/PE) and/or leading accounting firm

• Profound understanding of the common structures of financing rounds and financing instruments used in venture capital

• Solid understanding of the German regulatory environment is preferred

• Ability to think analytically and strategically, and a self-starter who can work independently while being able to work well within a small team

• Entrepreneurial spirit with a hands-on attitude

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, fluent in both German and English

• Love for numbers and a strong eye for detail.
